Ask anyone under the age of 50 about Nike and they will inform you that Nike have a great line in shoes and clothing.
Yes Nike clothing has been specially designed as sportswear, but, to the fashion conscious younger generations; if Nike clothing is good enough for sports people , be that footballers, rugby players, golfers or athletes, then it is good enough to be worn out on the streets.
Nike golf clothing has been created to offer golfers the freedom of movement that is required of their clothing to ensure that the material does not impede golf shots.
Nike’s Dri-fit range of polo/golf shirts are designed to draw moisture away from the body and to the surface of the material, where it, quickly, evaporates. Nike’s Tech Element clothing combines a ventilation system to increase the air flow over the body, so not only can you look cool, but, can keep cool, too.

The Evolution of Tennis and Polo Shirts
Filed Under custom golf | Comments Off
Manesntails asked:
A tennis shirt, polo shirt or golf shirt all refers to a type of t-shirt that is made of knitted cloth, usually pique cotton. Its style is customarily with some buttons down a slit below the collar, two small cuts on the bottom of each side of the t-shirt and maybe with or without a pocket. On rare occasions are tennis shirts made of silk, merino wool or synthetic fibers.
Between the nineteenth and early twentieth century, tennis players had a tough time playing their games as a result of poor design of their attire. In those days, they had to wear long-sleeved shirts, trousers and even ties to the tennis court. These formal cloths were akin to what the white collars of today wear to work and were simply too heavy and cumbersome for professional playing. Therefore, a French tennis player called Rene Lacoste decided to start his own line of tennis shirts named after himself, Lacoste. The 7-time Grand Slam tennis champion came up with a loosely-knitted un-starched pique cotton tennis shirt with a collar and longer shirt-tail at the back. The collar is thicker so that it could be upturned and provide the neck protection from the sun while playing. Actually, before Lacoste invented the revolutionary tennis shirt in 1929, polo shirts already had the button-down collar design since the late nineteenth century. While this design was able to prevent the wind from flapping the collars against the players’ neck, the long-sleeved polo shirts which were made of Oxford-cloth cotton were clumsy to wear on the field. As a result, Lacoste’s tennis shirts were promptly taken on by the polo players as their apparel in the 1930s.
Soon, the polo shirt and tennis shirt were considered the one and the same. In the US, the two terms were very commonly used interchangeably in the 1950s to describe this very popular apparel. It was so popular that the tennis players openly refer to their shirt as a “polo shirt”, even though the t-shirt was first used in tennis and even though polo only adopted it many years later.
The t-shirt was made even more popular, thanks to Ralph Lauren. In 1967, he added a Joules Polos shirt into his already famous clothing line called Polo. However, his polo shirts were not meant to be worn by professional players. They were only imitations of the style of what the polo players were wearing at that time.
Before long, golfers became aware of the advantages of Lacoste’s tennis shirt. As a result, when golf’s customary wear grew more relaxed and informal some time in the twentieth century, golfers did not think twice about adopting the tennis shirt. Until today, most golfers wear nothing else. For the ladies, they can have their tennis shirt custom made in colors that they like. The only difference is that the monicker “golf shirts” have various golf cuts necessary to incorporate into the standard tennis shirts. Today, the tennis shirt’s popularity is so widespread that it has a line of fashion of its own. Most of the main clothing producers have a version or variation of Lacoste’s tennis shirt since it is worn extensively by both men and women today and not necessarily for athletic purposes. Tennis shirts are regarded as smart casual wear. Many semi-professional and retail workers wear tennis shirts to work because round collar t-shirts are considered too informal and yet business suits are too formal.
Field guides, laborers and others who work outdoors love to wear tennis shirts to work because the material and design are resilient and durable. Sometime in the 1990s, the tennis shirt also found favor by the high tech industry and was made its standard business as well as casual wear. Other industries followed suit. Usually, a company logo is printed on the shirt to make it look more business-like. In some of India’s government departments, tennis shirts are standard office wear.
In many schools with uniforms, especially junior schools, tennis shirts are part of a compulsory uniform for both boys and girls. The tennis shirt continues to be popular in sports, even used by officials such as caddies, some retired golf professionals, umpires and sports announcers. Thanks in part to the outdoor nature of the sports with which they are linked to, the shirts often come in light colors, for example in tennis the color white is most often used.
Like in the original Lacoste’s design, sometimes a tennis shirt is cut so that the back hangs a few centimeters lower than the front also known as a “tennis tail”. The longer tail is meant to keep the shirt tucked into the back of a man’s tennis shorts when he is bent over to survey the court. The easily-upturnable collar remains another athletic aid to protect against sun burns.
The tennis shirt or Joules Clothing polo shirt will continue to occupy a niche in the fashion industry, regardless of the changing trends and times. It has become an essential wear in our daily lives.

Gregg Hall asked:
Birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries bring dreams of beautiful gifts to the minds of some and feelings of dream to the hearts of others. Golf enthusiasts can be some of the easiest people to please if you know what to look for when considering their favorite activity.
Sportsmen share an energetic spirit and positive fanaticism of golf. They love to remember great games they had, thus a gift that triggers a great memory for them will put you at the top of their favorite people list. Consider the personalized gift of a scrap book to help your golfer remember his best times on the green. Research your subject to find out which pro your golf enthusiast emulates. Then find the souvenir that will really make him smile like a club with Tiger Woods’ signature or a Ben Hogan shirt. Sports and souvenir shops also offer stuffed toys and other unique gifts for the hard-to-shop-for golfer, so you don’t need to worry about finding something not to suit your loved one’s taste.
Image matters to golfers, so he’ll genuinely appreciate the right accessory. Consider protecting your special someone’s eyesight and game with a great visor or pair of sunglasses. However, as you shop for the perfect pair of shades, stay away from those with a concaving effect. These will alter eyesight, an imperative sense on the green. Your sports fanatic will also appreciate comfy and stylish golf shirts, pants, and socks. Practice caution and observation, however, when searching out an apparel gift. Know your golfer’s color, size, and style preference. Beyond the regular apparel you might want to consider watches and shoes as well.
Stay away from purchasing golf equipment. Golfers have specific preferences on clubs, and they most likely already have the clubs they prefer. Thus you will just waste money by purchasing something you think might help your golfer without knowing specifically what he prefers. Additionally, each golfer has a unique style and swinging technique. Golf club makers cater to those idiosyncrasies, and thus unless you truly understand your golfer’s style, stay away from purchasing something that might actually hinder his game.
If you’re looking for hardware, consider a tech-savvy tools for golfers. Universal gadgets that measure the speech of a player’s swing and thus predict the distance a ball might reach with one swing can improve a golfer’s game. If your loved one always wanted to know exactly how fast his ball could fly, consider purchasing a Speed Radar for him. This gadget will measure the speed of the ball with real time feedback. Another nifty tool, Caddy Laser Flags, monitors how far a golfer can reach in terms of ball displacement. All of these different gadgets will help improve the effectiveness of a golfer’s game.
Consider these options the next time that pit in your stomach starts to form at the thought of a birthday, and your golf-loving love will know that you truly care about him and his game.

Golf Clothing

Charlotte Metcalfe asked:
Unfortunately is getting to that time of the year where you need to wrap up warm for a round of golf. Golf clothing should not just be stylish; most important, it needs to be comfortable and functional especially in the winter months, where you need to wear more of it.
There is no shortage of choice when it comes to shirts, sweaters, trousers, shorts, slacks and skirts. It’s a good idea to wear several layers that you can peel off in changeable weather. Bear in mind that you will be out on the course for several hours at a time, during which there may well be a dramatic change in conditions. If the weather looks changeable, make sure you have enough extra clothing to keep warm, since cold limbs and joints are your worst enemy when playing golf, and pack waterproofs in your golf bag in case it rains.
Golf clothes should be light and comfortable to allow freedom to move whilst playing. You should choose golf clothes that look good, because if you look good you feel good and feeling good increases your confidence. The dress code at private golf clubs usually requires a golf shirt with a collar and most brands of golf clothing design their golf clothes to cohere with these dress codes.
One of the most important pieces of golf equipment that any golfer could use in the winter months is probably a pair of good winter mitts or gloves Golf gloves exist to make gripping the golf club easier. Sweat on the hand can loosen the grip on the club, but golf gloves keep the grip firm and steady. Golf gloves, similarly to winter gloves, also keep the hands warm on colder days. It is common to only wear one glove when playing golf apart from the winter. Some brands also have gloves that fit perfectly over your trolley handle to keep you hands warm when pushing your trolley in the worst winter conditions.
Golfbuyitonline have a huge range of top brand golf attire. Adidas, Nike and Mizuno for the more sportier wear and designer wear such as Calvin Klein, Green Lamb and Cutter and Buck plus many more all available at low internet prices.

History of Polo Shirts and Golf Shirts That Are Favorite Uniforms and Promotional Items in Tampa FL
Filed Under custom golf | Comments Off
Business Local Listings asked:
Polo shirts and golf shirts, like custom t shirts and embroidered shirts, are favorite uniforms and promotional items in Tampa FL. But do you know how they came to be?
Acually, polo shirts and golf shirts are almost identical. They are also sometimes called tennis shirts. Obviously, this is because they were, and still are, used by players of these sports around the world and here in Tampa FL. The same articles of clothing are also often referred to simply as t-shirts, or even tee shirts. The former may be because they are often made of the same material as collarless t-shirts, and the latter may be slang or a reference to golf shirts. In any case, all of them are very popular as casual wear in Tampa FL. They are so popular, in fact, that there are many wholesale t shirt suppliers in Tampa FL.
What we call polo shirts or golf shirts today are short sleeved pullovers with a soft collar and buttons at the neck opening. They often come in cotton knit material but also in several blends of soft materials.
The first such shirt was designed by the French tennis champion Rene Lacoste in 1926 for the US Open championship. Previously, tennis players wore white long sleeved button-up shirts with ties and flannel trousers on the court, merely rolling up their sleeves to play. Lacoste’s shirt was much more comfortable and quickly became popular. By 1927, he added the crocodile emblem on the left breast of the shirt to acknowledge the nickname “Crocodile” which the US press gave him. After Lacoste retired from professional tennis in 1933, he began to mass produce and market his shirts under the Lacoste brand.
When Lacoste’s tennis shirt became popular, polo players started to wear it for their sport, too. Before then, polo players traditionally wore long-sleeved shirts made of thick Oxford cotton with a button-down collar. Ironically, the tennis shirt soon came to be better known as the polo shirt. This name was further popularized when American designer Ralph Lauren launched his Polo brand which also featured shirts of the same design but this time sporting an emblem of a polo player on the left breast.
Golf wear followed the path taken by tennis wear and polo garb. Golf players also took to wearing what was already being called the polo shirt. What became known as the golf shirt, however, had a slight variation in design. Whereas the polo shirt usually had a soft collar made of one-ply ribbed knit cotton, the golf shirt had a stitched collar made of a double-layer of the same fabric as the shirt’s body, often mercerized cotton, polyester, or a cotton and polyester blend. The golf shirt also had a longer neckline plaque with three to four buttons whereas the polo shirt usually had only two to three.
Since then, the polo shirt and golf shirt have evolved into many minor variations but have retained their basic features. They are now commonly worn as casual wear by men and women alike, and are even deemed acceptable as “business casual” wear for more informal industries. In fact, they are even being used as uniforms in many technical firms, retail firms, hotels and resorts, health centers, as well as schools.
When polo shirts or golf shirts are used as uniforms or promotional items, they often include embroidery of the company, school or organization’s logo or emblem. Companies that supply wholesale t shirts often supply polo shirts and golf shirts, as well as embroidered shirts and custom t shirts, in Tampa FL. It looks like these articles of clothing are here to stay.

Women’s Sleeveless Golf Shirts?
Filed Under custom golf | Comments Off
t_hoyer asked:
Is it golf appropriate to wear sleeveless golf shirts while golfing? I have been online looking and there sems to be a lot of sleeveless golf shirts out there. For some reason I thought that it was inappropriate unless it has changed and has become more a norm for women (which I hope it has). Thanks.
