Question about Taylormade Golf clubs/Price (value)?

I’ve just started to get into golf and enjoy playing, so I want to invest in a decent set of clubs. I’ve been playing with a friend’s set of Mizuno’s, but I know he wants them back. I was offered a complete set of Taylormade’s (irons: T-Step Ultralights; drivers: R5, V-Steel, and Rescue Mid; and the putter is a Rossa Suzuka - set includes bag, 20 balls, and all covers), all brand new. He won them in a fundraiser 2 yrs ago and says they are worth $1200 then, and offered them to me at $500 (he doesn’t golf). He’s a good friend, so I dont even know if I should negotiate down if its too high due to age. Is this a good deal? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

      Clearly you don’t know much about golf since you called woods “Drivers,” but that is a good deal on a great set of clubs especially if they are practically brand new.

      Give him the $500 and run. That is a great deal on a complete set of Taylormade clubs with bag. A new set of irons alone would be $400 to $800 depending on the model.
